I believe this is an old coal mine slag heap. The given coordinates don't seem to be at the very top. My understanding is that it's private land so I didn't try and get up there. Instead I went to the recently refurbished pub for a nice pint of Everards beer and sat in the garden. After that I sent for a walk up the canal and after about 15 mins got a good view back of the hill. Tool another picture back near the car park.
