Very enjoyable quick hill to fill in the rest of the afternoon with after Sharen Kingham's event on Corryhabbie Hill.

Parked at Lynebeg and follow the marked track all the way to the trig. Freezing wind on top with lots of soft snow. Made a round of it by descending to Dalmagarry and back along the old A9.

Log #80, and 75th pillar - "Hill of the Eel". Parked at Lynebeg, and followed the path all the way to the top. The pillar seems to be in good nick, despite the cap being missing. There are great 360* views, only spoilt by Garbole wind farm to south. Continued onwards to S7257 "Meall na Fuar-ghlaic". [ExP-75/MiP-0/BM-5]

A bulldozed track now runs from underneath the viaduct all the way to the summit; making this now a truly easy ascent. Would not like to have visited this hill previously as the terrain looked very rough indeed.

vgc except damage to top screed. From N, fancy surfaced entrance, track thru plantation to deer fence then dampish moorland, snowy today. Wet start to the day but dry on ascent and a summit view. Continued W to S7257.

Spider open. Slight defect in top skim of cement around spider. Previously visited this Graham 15/09/99 no trig details noted. Cycled all the way to the trig via the wind farm road and the new super highway which now extends over the hill.

Just about didnt make this one. didnt realise the thickness of the mist until I got up there. Anyhow carried on up a slight gradient and thanks to GPS made it to trig. As mentioned before allen Keyes has been up here. Not much to say as obviously no view (see pics). Then batteries ran out on way back but had assistance from Allymac to get back on the right track. All in all was a long slog up but got the wanted result but will wait for better weather next time

Deep heather, deep troughs etc. Sheer grit and determination required but it gets easier the higher you get. Then its deep peat bogs. Never found any path to speak of. I see I am at least the fourth up here. Good guys RHW and RJW were here before me, but so was bad guy Mr Allen Keyes. Yes the spider plug has been swiped meaning that the mystery AK is a strenuous walker who doesn't visit lowly farmland trigs. Anyhow, the pillar is VGC apart from the open top. FB faces ENE. LHS sighting hole open. Full 360° long distance panarama. S7517 was built on 2nd July 1953 as a secondary station in Block NJ06, Nairn.

Beware difficult locked gate at NH788321. This little piece of goml nonsense can be bypassed by going under the railway at 786322, just up the A9. Boggy once off the track. Good view to Inverness. PS AK was plaguing the Munros in the early 1980s.
