quite a trek to get in from east. parked at Soar y Mynydd chapel, waded Doethie river, then rough moorland to Bryn Ambor, direct to trig after crossing Pysgotwr stream was as hard as it gets, very rough moorland heavily tussocked but well worth it for the stunning wilderness feel of the southern Cambrian Mountains. Getting back via forestry and direction of Tyn-y-cornel on non existent paths wasn't much better. Pretty stuffed by end.

No logs for this trig for four years, then two in eight days. Drove up, as per Glaslyn, then hacked across very boggy ground to the pillar. OK view.

Walked from u/c road at SN 719 460, along access road from Bwlch-y-Rhiw, and NE through Bryn Arau Duon forest. Across access land at clearing, and about 800m to TP. Extensive views all round. Drygarn can be seen standing proud to NE, and the Beacons and Carmarthen Fans to SE. Took route W down to Nant y Ci, around Nantyrast farm, and back down access road to car. A good walk on a bright, blustery, day. Slight erosion to top of SE-face of TP, exposing stones/gravel within.

Looking North Bright, blustery, day.

Had tried this once before and sank knee deep in a bog which put me off for the day despite trying two other approaches. Drove up from Bwlch-y-rhiw to the S on forest tacks (no barriers) to close to spot height 429 ( Bryn Cadwgan) then new forest roads to edge of forest. The open ground to pillar can be boggy but was good today. Glad to have this one in the bag! Pillar is in vgc.Great views, lovely area.

vgc, metal cap, deep letters. Tussocky hill, nice grassy summit. Simple access from ESE via forest road; a few logs laid across wide peaty drainage channel on beeline. Did a circuit including the two nearby 400m tops.
