From the car park down the road from the eponymous café (fine chilli after the walk), took the long route past the lakes to approach from the south in site of Dolwyddelan. Quite a stiff wind but still busy with people blocking paths asking passers by how you get up. Splendidly alone on the southern flanks.

In the late 1990s, we decided to climb Moel Siabod from Pont Cyfyng. I remember going around the East side and across a marshy area to get up to the South side. We then had a great scramble up the ridghe to the summit. Will have to see if I can pin the date down anymore accurately

A superb early morning walk. Started from Pont Cyfyng at 0715 & reached summit by 0835 after steady slog up old mining track & demanding climb up scree-ridden E face. Magnificent panorama from trig as mist and clouds rose slowly away from neighbouring peaks. From here you can see them all! Descent via ridge, which would make an enjoyable route up.
