The surrounding brambles seem to be a thing of the past. I could see from scouser's photo that it was clear of vegetation and so it proved. The waist high grass had been harvested and I managed to to jump over the adjacent brook cleanly. A highlight was to see masses of tadpoles in the pond. Enjoyed the rest of the day around the sand dunes of Formby Hills

In a lovely spot in a field but no views. Easy access from Jacksmere Lane straight up a waist high field of grass to the trig. As you follow the fence/hedge line to your right you will come to a clump of trees, which hides a pond. The trig is on he other side of the pond across a tiny brook. As you return, you will see a gate near where the tree clump ends in the corner. Don't bother going over it as it is private land and there isn't an easy way out. Just trace your steps back through the grass back to the road.
