After reading recent logs, it seemed a good time to visit this one, and so it proved. We drove up Stonepit Lane, past Cliffe House Farm and then surprisingly all the way up the bridlepath to the caravan park. The gate was open and there were very few folk about so we drove straight to the caravan. Number A11A and the surrounding vans are all closed and emptied for the winter now, so a quick nip round the trellis garden divider to visit the pillar was no problem at all. As others have said, the trig is in fine condition but has been adopted by the caravan owners and converted into a lighthouse feature; I couldn't therefore comment on the spider/cap. The flush bracket has been painted white when the pillar was done. An interesting pillar then, a good one to visit and very easy at this time of year. We carried on along the Cleveland Way to watch some seals on Gristhorpe Sands.
