Had a chat with the farmer who now owns the waterboard site where the concrete water tower once stood. It was once a well known landmark sadly missed once destroyed. We discussed the site which he has lived next to all his life..and confirmed that there has never been a trip pillar here as shown on the map.. incorrectly!! He seems to remember a mark or plaque on the water tower but cant be sure.. enjoyable visit.

Security fence still there but gate unlocked and no water tank, just a few sheds

I had walked all the way from Ottery and was 50 yards from the site when my bus came along. It was either wait 2 hours or catch that one. The site was therefore "inaccessible" at this time.
