Drove up as per caroleengel. Put on the waterproof pants and jacket then walked round to a point directly S of the trig. Found a drainage ditch and then forced my way through the dense forestry and bog. Sometimes it was easier to go backwards to shift the branches out of the way! Eventually emerged relatively unscathed into the small clearing where the trig is located. Pillar in vgc and cap still in place. No view, obviously. The return journey was just as awful. Sheer bloody mindedness is definitely required to bag this one. The other thought that occurs is "you must be mad". The high score is just for the effort required!

Drive up track to junction at SN 701420 (access SN 677402). From track to West, conifers now 12' tall, thick, very wet - horrible.

Walked from roadside parking at SN673376, also bagging TP1002 (Banc Goleugoed) en route. Glaslyn's prophecy of 3 years ago is proving correct - although only 2.5m tall, the saplings already obscure the TP on its tumulus. I approached it from a point 150m directly S on the forest road. Beautiful day, and great views to the Black Mountain (S) and Beacons (SE) in the distance.

Cycled in from Caio on forest track. When you reach the cleared area the pillar is NE on small tumulus. The area has ben re-planted so in another 5 years or so you will be battling the trees again! Took a grid ref for future use. Pillar good, great views.
