Parked at end of footpath on the common land. Walked up along old Drover’s Road. Originally intentions were Maen Richard Standing Stones, Suprised to find a bright white trig point first, well happy. Lovely mother's day treat..❤️

1/2. Parked at end of footpath on the common land. Walked up along old Drover’s Road. Sat at top of hill just past Maen Richard standing stone. Trig well looked after with multiple memorial plaques. Trig in good condition with spider, plug and FB intact. Beautiful views of the Beacons and Fans.

Lovely walk from road past Maen Richard standing stone and onto Trig point. Turn at cattle grid to drive up to common and easy parking.

10 minute walk up from road at start of RoW. Sunrise was like fire whilst looking over the white tipped central beacons. Great views.

3/4 From pillar to NNW, a short walk over firm moorland. The Drover's walkers pillar, two and four legged. No dragons today, they've moved across the valley. Original cap and personalised spider. Visibility about 5 miles, far enough to see that I was above the deep valleys on the southern edge of the Eppynt. Descended on FP through fields to Llanfihangel Nant Bran, remarkably every farm gate latch on the E side of the Nant Bran valley worked perfectly.

Nice easy trig to find with several helpful farmers on route offering advice on routes and parking. Drive over cattle-grid towards Bolamaen on bend. It is a route you can take it is not a farmers drive as we first thought before the farmer put us right. Walked up from bridleway on brow of the hill a few standing stones on the walk. First of 4 today! Trig has a couple of chunks taken out of it on 2 top sides and 4 memorial plaques for Drover walkers (1 a dog!). Painted white and with red dragons. Spider/Flush Bracket and Spider all in place. Nice panoramic views to other trigs from here!

Parked at sharp bend in road SE of trig and followed the bridleway which was initially very boggy but improved on the plateau. One of the four memorials affixed to the pillar states that this was the deceased's favourite place. With the fabulous view to the S it's easy to understand why. Carried on to Merthyr Cynog.

From unfenced minor road to E; good parking. Wide, short-grassed track to pillar at top of hill of same name. Pillar has 4 memorial plaques, 3 for what seems to be members of a walking group (Drover's Walkers?), and 1 for a dog. Nice coat of reasonably fresh whitewash. Original top cap retained, deeply indented lettering; LHS sight hole open. Nice polished metalwork. Misty panoramic views. Looks like some damage to the top from my photo but none noted at time of visit.

The pillar is highly visible and easily accessible being adjacent to tracks and paths. I parked on the road to the east. Pillar in good condition except that the plug is missing. A really lovely area. Several memorial plaques to drovers who have enjoyed life up here.

Parking on roadside about one and ahalf KM to the SE linkable with Merthyr Cynog on good bridleways in a longish round trip (about 6km). Ideal evening route for the mountain bikers amongst us
