Parked in track entrance near 475 spot height. Followed the very circuitous forestry track until near the pillar then hacked along a boggy ride to the trig.

After visiting Cefn Farrog we headed west down through the forest and had our lunch overlooking Llyn Brianne. It was then north along the road for half a mile before heading east again along a path and then the forest tracks winding their way to the trig point. My pals fancied challenging themselves to try and find this pillar not using a GPS and they managed it which is pretty staggering given the trees are now grown up and the trig well hidden from the track.

Since Dusty's visit in 2009, the saplings have reached up to 4m in height, making the TP invisible from the track. Although a bit of a struggle, the trees are not too densely packed, and I found it after a couple of minutes. This was the first TP on a 15-mile circular walk from Abergwesyn, which also took in the TP at Bryn Crwn. Superb views down the valley of the Irfon from the track high above, on the east side of the forest, on the way back.

A rough approach from the road with some ditch jumping. The next generation of weeds is growing fast, and this pillar will soon become very hard to reach.

I set off for these with some trepidation knowing full well what thick conifers means. Well in this case it is thankyou to the man with the chainsaw as the only thick element up here is the density of new cut ditches 7 of various sizes in the 150m from track to trig. Views are now good esp towards the Drygarn. Parking is in a passing space by the woodland turn but a 4x4 (or bike my choice) can get within 150m. Trig itself now has alot of the top screed chipped off hence the downgrade.

Extremely difficult to find in the darkness of the dense conifers. It is there! I had to use the flash to get a photo on our kodak 110. Plug with indented lettering.
