Spectacularly beautiful February day. Cold bright and sunny. Long loop from Llanberis with Twiggy taking in some of the closing section of the marathon route. Three and a half hours of pure joy.

Enjoyed this evening stroll up the hill with the kids, gorgeous panoramic views. Started at the parking spot next to building ruins, *heads up* it’s very narrow road up to this parking spot.

Bagged on end of Moel Cynghorion to Moel Eilio ridge walk. Nice views for a small hill and an easy ascent after the main ridge. Sunny with high cloud.

Loved this one. Amazing views to Snowdon summit. Parked at entrance to plantation. Took RoW to corner of fence and followed it up, path is there anyway. Local informed me to head west through the gate to the building and then south to get back to parking to make a little circular. Again path all the way.

From Llanberis on road, track and open hillside (probably the route used for the finishing miles of the Snowdon marathon). Absolutely howling from the SE and driving rain. Sat at foot of low ruin next to pillar as wind ripped the rain over my head before turning into the teeth of storm Barra to stumble back to track. Felt like 2hrs in a washing machine.

A circular walk from Cwm-y-glo (up the road from Llanberis and minus the tourists). Came onto Foel Goch via the N ridge and continued to Moel Eilio before dropping N to the pillar. Very easy to reach from this direction, but a pig to get off going N, NE or NW. Pillar in good condition with views in all directions. I gift this pillar to "facing ones demons", we all have them and sometimes you just have to take the bull by the horns. I hadn't visited Crib Goch ridge in 25 years, I was a different person then. Did the ridge a couple of days ago...conquered a demon.

On grassy area in midst of heather moor. Quite a lot of fading white paint. Asphalt plug replacement. Concrete base exposed at grass level. One sight hole open, others closed. Remains of derelict building close by and piles of bricks from said building stacked against pillar. Very windy today but good views all round.

Great views over the estuary and up to the Snowdon ranger. Came up the track from Llanberis and then the path through the heather to the top. A fine breakfast at Pete's Cafe beforehand helped!

Walked up from Waunfawr, before carrying on over Moel Eilio and Moel Cynghorion then back down on the Snowdon Ranger Path. A fresh day with plenty of wind but good visibility in all directions.

Walked up from Waunfawr following the road up to the remains of the Donen Lâs forest. Then a quick walk through the gorse up to the trig. Then back down into Llanberis. Nice views from the trig today.

Asphalt plug. Public. Access Land. Good walk up from Llanberis by minor road & public footpath to Bwlch-y-groes. Trig on moorhead above disused quarry & tips. Next to ruins of Marconi's wireless station [bricks scattered about].

Parked on road where forestry commission have a track and large turning area. From there a pleasant climb across the heather which was in bloom. Ruins of brick building close to trig. Maybe once associated with mining?

AFAIK the ruins are part of Marconi's Longwave transmitting station build around the time of WW1

Rarely do I wax lyrical about a trig and even rarer is a 9 or 10 on my listings, but those of you that read my musings will have noticed a distinct fondness for the small set of trigs that lie on the northern edge of Snowdonia. All have great views of the mountains but this takes the crown. Plenty of parking at the end of the road from Waufawr is a good start (ignore the pull ins the forestry lorries only just make it past). A steady walk on tracks then opens out to a wide view not only of all Ynys Mons but also the entire Snowdon and Glyder ranges With Moel Elio and Clogwyn highly visible and to cap it all a view down the lleyn and the Nantle Hills. On a fully clear day this is a photographers paradise. Rare are the trigs I seek to visit twice. Most are on a fell top but as a quick route from Llanberis when there is no time to get any higher this is a real gem. Then just when you think it cant get any better there is a great view of Caernarfon Castle as you drive back to the village

Parked near the path that goes up from the forestry. Trig painted white next to a ruined building of some sort. Excellent views of Snowdonia. Tarmac plug.
