Trig sited on an embankment by a rugby club, next to some twisted, rusty lengths of metal. Not the nicest pillar I'd bag today, but certainly the easiest!

Visited this on a day out walking, did Kilvey Hill (destroyed pillar) and the standing stone in Bonymaen village before finally parking in the Bonymaen Rugby Club car park, the pillar is easy to find on a bank behind the clubhouse and changing rooms, no walking involved. The pillar is in good condition but looks lonely and deserted, the flush bracket and spider are both in place but the centre plug has been filled with Bitumen, the pillar is slightly undermined on the clubhouse side. The weather was fantastic and the views in parts were good.

Up on the bank to the right of the rugby field behind the buildings. Played many a game up here. Great views on a clear day can be windy. Just a little cold today and cloudy. Trig pillar had a plate and spider but plug is missing.

Bank at boundary of Bonymaen rugby club and paddock. Scrubby area behind club house, not befitting a pillar! Top cap repalced by asphalt (mortar?) plug; 'BSM' style FB; rear sight hole open.

Open access as previous logs. Youngters trainngon the far pitch and a few cars parked but no issues. Some good all round views partially obscured by trees.

vgc, asphalt plug, S edge of Rugby ground, just inside fence, on a high grassy bank. A few folk about but no-one seemed interested in a trig bagger. No idea how I missed this one in Nov07. The only intact rugby ground trig I can think of (there is a stricken one).

In good condition... kind of awkward to find, it's in the Bon Y Maen RFC ground premises, next to a house, possibly the ground keepers, so the gates are always open. The photos were awkward to take because of the fence was very close to the pillar and fitting the trig and myself (and as much background as possible) into the frame was tricky, that's why I knelt down in one photo! And also maybe the resident would wonder about things.. if he or she saw me, and being near a school, it was even more awkward! But good views of Swansea Bay, though things like trees, houses and pylons can get in the way.

It had been on my list for a pre meeting visit but you got there first. Inside the gates but open at all times. bank has been cut away and is the main threat.

I'm surprised this one hasn't been visited before - there can't be any trigspotters in the Swansea area. It's just inside the railings of Bon-y-Maen Rugby Football Club. The crowd was just turning out when we got there so access was easy. It looked like the entrance to the ground stays open most of the time anyway. The FB faces outwards and is easily visible from outside the railings. Tarmac/concrete plug.
