The site of the trig is now in the playing fields of Sarum Academy in the western suburbs of Salisbury. The nearest I approached was the rough, litter strewn track called Penning Road that runs alongside the school grounds. Views were mostly blocked by nearby houses and hedges. All that can be seen is mostly suburban roof tops. There is a glimpse of downs the other side of the city to the south. There are better views over the city from elsewhere in the estate.
