Parked in residential area in Ham Green, could possibly have parked near Ham Green Reservoir but that’s only for anglers. Along Chapel Pill Lane. At the gate heading north for the Avon Walkway, turned east onto driveway and uphill. After about three hundred metres pillar came into view in the corner of the field just before the bridge over the railway line. Muddy corner of field, probably churned up by livestock. Limited views to west and south. Raised S prefix. Spider and cap in place.

I asked for permission at the farm, which was readily given after a quick Trig-pointing lesson, I explained it as "like train spotting but with hills" seemed to do the trick! Pillar is located on farm track about 500m from the path, next to old railway bridge. Good condition.

Owner drove out to ask what we were doing, happy for us to view the trig but ensured we returned to the Avon Path after. Pillar located in corner of muddy cow pasture next to the track boundary fence on NW side of rly track. In reasonable condition but some chipping to top edges. Original cap in place, lightly indented lettering; LHD side sight hole open; BSM-style FB.

A lane out of Pill near the cricket pitch leads into a business park and modern housing estate. Park here and take a short walk along the private lane indicated by the Bristol Cyclepath. Walk past the cottages and pond up to a farm entrance on the right near a kissing gate. Walk up the concrete lane over a cattle grid and over the crest of the hill the trig comes into view next to the railway bridge. This trig is in good condition with views over the River Avon towards Sea Mills and Shirehampton.
