Pillar long gone, moved by the farmer. County top of Suffolk located close by, inside the comms site according to its GR. Nothing here but perfunctory trig & county top bags.

No trace of the trig as expected from logs but somewhere here is Suffolk's county top, but which lump is highest probably needs a detailed survey and could be anywhere over this hill as far as we can see to Depden and Chedburgh. As this looks like the edge of an old airfield we wondered if the highest point had been somewhere out in the field in the past. Trundled down to reservoir where a water board employee was working so rare access was available. A nice sprinkling of daffodils cheered up the site - the mast doesn't.

Revisit for site photos. Had a look in nearby copse (too nettly); plenty other hiding places including the farmyard; and old barn is a sea of nettles.

I am surprised this location has not been visited more frequently as it is the Suffolk County Top. The trig is now gone it used to me in the field opposite the mast. Its possible to drive up the track all the way to the mast.
