Flagstaff visible and in place. Unable to tell if this is the same flagstaff in the same location as computed by the OS in 1955. Not possible to access tower to investigate the bolt. I understand though that the church does occasionally run an open house which includes the opportunity to go up to the top of the tower so there maybe the opportunity to find the bolt in the future.

Church of St Andrew, Grade I listed, 12thC on site of an earlier Saxon church. OS lists Bolt and Flagstaff: no access to investigate the former; Flagstaff good atop the tower. There are 2 cut benchmarks on the building, one has a 1GL bolt centre of datum.

St Andrew's. Have passed this church many times whilst living in Farnham, but today a happy co-incidence of using the adjacent car park and spare time on my ticket allowed me finally to visit. Very large church suggesting a very wealthy history. Current building dates from 12th C but 7th C foundations have been found. Interior stunningly redesigned by Ptolomy Dean about 10 years ago and is an excellent example of bringing Grade 1 listed architecture into the 21st C. Fine east window by Pugin and some elaborate memorial plaques at the west entrance, including one to William Cobbett who is buried in the graveyard. Flagpole in place but no apparent access to the tower to check out the bolt.
