(725) Parked up at the entrance to New House Farm. Permission to take a short cut to the flood bank was freely given. Pillar facing landward, and in good condition. Not too swallowed up by the grass either. Clear views across the Humber to the terminals at Killingholme and Immingham docks. Pillar history: Built on the 30th of April 1939, at a cost of 2 17s 8d. Last maintained by the OS in November of 1987.

D2-8 Down the lane from Thorngumbald and not sure how to get to the embankment and helpful passing farmer gave directions, it was accessed through his field. Wished me a pleasureable walk at the edge of wheat field. Trig was easily found just below the level of the embankment, with great views (ignoring the rubbish) of the Humber estuary and bridge in the distance. On to my last trig of the two day jaunt at Paull, which turned out to be unsuccessful, then homewards.
