Walked up to the front door of The Oaks and explained to the house owner that I was one of those 'trig-bagging people'. He gave a bit of a resigned smile and rolled his eyes just a tiny bit. Nonetheless, he let me through the side gate and took me through to the Trig in their pristine back garden. He told me the pillar had sat undiscovered in a hedge for the first ten years they lived in the house. Now that hedge has been removed and the pillar sits surrounded by daffodils on an immaculately manicured lawn.

Luckily someone drove in to the driveway of The Oaks about thirty seconds ahead of me. The lady who came to the door kindly showed me through to the rear of the property to take photographs of the pillar. Apparently it was deep in a hedge when they moved in. Now it stands on closely mown lawn with a view of a tall leylandi hedge. Extra point for being well looked after. Left paving slabs on the top although was invited to move them if I wanted to. A little conversation. How many had I visited today? How many in total? Nice to be asked.

Luckily there was a car on the drive so knocked on the door and a nice lady allowed me around the back to view the Pillar. Last week she saw the TP at West Wellow and noticed the number was S2721 and wondered where S2722 was so I said I would let her know. It was at Big Green Hill Romsey but has been destroyed and replaced with a different number.

Have called in here quite a few times over the years, and as today there was no answer. Glanced down the left-hand side of the house to see the pillar in full view. Two sight-holes open, but didn't inspect the cap as that 'strange square thing' still sits on top. Probably sixth time lucky.

Details posted below by Sagina nivalis are spot on and I cannot imagine finding this one otherwise. Thankyou Sagina. Thanks are also due to the kind gentleman at the house (owners father) who allowed me to look even though having no knowledge of the pillar. Apparently house changed hands last year. Yes, the Cypress trees are dense and I could only see into them by crawling underneath. Pillar is totally invisible from lawn. Although able to see pillar from bottom and read FB unable to check plug. I should emphasise this is a private house and permission will be needed to view.

Totally unreachable! I've marked this as good so that it shows an icon on my local search list! It's in a hedge in the back garden of "Kazben". I spoke to a neighbour two houses down who is a surveyor and has seen the pillar recently. There was no one in at "Kazben" while I was in the location and it would appear to be the sort of place where regular trigpoint hunter visits wouldn't be tollerated! There's no possibility of viewing from around the property as it is bordered by other properties.

Got to within 30m of where the GPS was pointing, but if it's still there, it's in someone's back garden. I couldn't see it through the fence, although the light was fading and the garden in question is heavily landscaped. Very soggy and hard going to get through the wood behind the houses, especially in the dark. By the time I escaped I was fed up, and cursing the guy who introduced rhododendons to this country !
