Roadside verge parking (TQ 5696 6398). RoW crosses a wet muddy field, with a young crop growing to, Kingsdown Farm. Continued on the RoW circumventing the farm on it's SE side, then followed field boundary to TQ 5633 6453, whence a direct line taken to the trig, partly over another wet muddy field with crop growing. Pillar has a marked lean, hence classifying it as damaged. An original cap is retained, deeply indented lettering; RHS sight hole sealed, other 3 open. Extensive, flat farmland views.

Parked in the entrance to the Brands Hatch field North of BH main entrance on the A20. The field was clear of crops awaiting ploughing for the start of the season so went straight across along tractor tracks. Good views looking back to the NE and A20, Strange why it wasn't built at the top of the ridge?? Seemed to be leaning slightly?

This is one of those that has bugged me for a while and I have had several half hearted attempts over the last few years - today was successful - Access from the small business park to the South then "get lost" on the footpath (I went with the intention of asking at the farm but was unable to find anyone around) Pillar is located about 400m from the farm in stubble today. Farmland view and over to Brands Hatch - this must be one of the least visited pillars (along with Scudders Hill) in the south.

its a trig point - - - - - in the middle of an arable field overloooked by by farm buildings. Requires crossing a large field in view of several farm buildings! - either from A20 or FP and vague navigation ;-) Field in question is surrounded by BWF. views @ trig not bril , but nearby kent downs offers wonderful views. Can easily be seen from a20 when you know where to look. Very close to entrance to brands hatch race track. I decided NOT to cross recently ploughed field witthouthout permission, but was clearly visible from next field

I'm writing this in Aug 2018 having just dug out some old maps and found notes on a few trigs I did 20+ years ago before I even realised this site existed! This was the fourth on a long trig-bagging trip from home (at the time) in Biggin Hill and my map notes say, "Got to within 50m, farmer not friendly"! Wish I could remember this encounter!
