Parked at gate by house on corner. Walked up farm track to radio mast compound. Go through gate and then gate to right and Trig is round to the right in hedgerow.

Covered in moss, base exposed. Access from the southern track, two metal gates to go through. Perched in hedgerow. Rating higher due to amazing scenery to Raddon Hills and Exe estuary! P.S. long uphill slog from Silverton (made worse by the fact that I'd came from Exeter)

Approach mast compound. Take gate on right and follow round edge of compound fence. Trig will be on your right by corner of compound fence in hedge. Not visible in summer on east side of hedge. Lovely walk up from Silverton.

My most local trig, down track towards mast. Road opposite track worth a walk amazing veiws, can see to coast on a clear day.

Trig in a hedge behind barbed wire security fence for telecom mast. Best view is from adjacent field on east side. Superb views of Dartmoor and Exmoor from the gate to the telecom mast compound. Rob H

keep em peeled guys..this uns a hedge dweller! sits atop a large plinth just outside the mast compound. easier to not get to than is! lovely spot. trig missing its plug and has been trimmed numerous times by farmers hedge cutter.. i bet it scares the life out of him every time he strikes it.

plenty of parking space at double gate. simple stroll along dirt track to mast. trig is very well hidden in hedge which runs behind well defended mast compound. fb can be seen from the road side of the hedge but access is best from mast side. a thistly gated patch gives access. follow fence round perimeter and trig is 10ft to right of compound fence. sits atop a very large concrete plinth. top has been clipped either side and plug is awol. otherwise in good condition. i placed an old empty glass bottle in the plughole..i wonder how long it will stay there. super views esp at this time of day.

Couldn't find this trig for some reason, perhaps we didn't look hard enough. Final day of our West Country Marilyn bagging trip and on our way home to Wiltshire. Probably the most unremarkable Marilyn we have visited, parked on side of the road and walked 250m to it along a farm track. ***Reviisted 1 Dec 2013. Pillar found ok, hiding in a beech hedgerow. Mounted on a large concrete plinth which raises it up approx 1.0m. Top of pillar badly damaged, presumably by hedge cutter. Cap missing, no plug; front and rear sight holes open.

Not sure you should be able to bag a Marilyn so easily, but walked in from lane and found trig easy enough in the hedge. Top corners seem to have been bevelled and plug is missing - couldnt see what treasures lay inside this one though. In summer this may be much harder than in March when not a leaf on the bushes.

finally on this visit found the trig because of lack of foliage. However it was impossible to get close to because of spiky hawthorn hedge growth. As I have secaturs and a small folding saw in my car, I fetched them, returned and liberated the trig so I could get a pic of my Jamie wearing very 'cool dude' sunglasses on. Note the number on his jacket 8..4 it was the 8th April !!

No cap or plug, believe top was slightly chipped. Hiding in hedge 25m N of gateway, FB facing E but best accessed from W side. Moderately nettly. Harvest ongoing.

A break from the bank holiday driving back from Devon to the Midlands. Not too difficult to find at this time of year - but then again I did have a GPS with me which helped. Flush bracket facing away from the mast. Access up track to mast and then along hedge without entering the field with the mast compound in itself.

This is a particularly satisfying trig. It's buried in the hedge so doesn't attract attention and the views from nearby are really quite stunning. You can see all the way to the Exe estuary and several other trig sites. A great spot. Nearest pub is the "Silverton Inn" which looks promising on the outside but was disappointingly commercial, with a wide screen showing soccer and only 1 real ale.

In the hedge just in front of the mast compound. A helicopter took off from there just as we were starting up the track to the mast - apparently a helicopter crashed in this area yesterday and still hadn't been found so it might have been something to do with that. Fortunately the FB is on the field side. Plug missing.

visited hiltop but actually couldn't find trig pillar. wasn't till revisit nine years later 8.4.09 with son Jamie that extra hunting and lack of foliage revealed it on to of wall behind fenced area
