Walked across the field to the South, through a gap in the NE corner and up the hedgeline which houses the trig. Much peering through foliage but I couldn't see any sign of it. Views were typical rolling Cornish countryside but nowt spesh. The field on the other side was electrified and contained sheep with lambs and as I had a young dog with no collar and only a makeshift lead, I avoided it. Following the farm track to the end gave me a long-distance view of the trig though, so having been yards away from it earlier I'm claiming it as bagged, and I'll fight anyone who challenges that claim!!!!

The pillar stands on a concrete plinth set into a gorse hedge next to a grass field. A metal cap with deep lettering was found underneath some ivy and it has FB S7863. I parked on the minor road to the south; walked up the muddy track and then crossed the field to reach the trig. The site looks north over the valley to the western suburbs of Truro; hills beyond Truro can be seen to the northeast and southeast and west to Carrine Common, Goodern and beyond. No exotic livestock was seen this morning.

Met farmer who was chasing two escaped bullocks. Helped him with that so he was very obliging in letting me walk across his field to a hedge bound trig. Not only Ostriches but also Lamas nearby (see photo)

Easy enough to get to over grassy fields to west. Typical inland Cornish scenery, very pleasant on a summer's day. Ostriches nearby!
