Location is woodland planted as reinstatement post opencast as per trigger photo. Here for the nearby 300m summit. Just after a rally stage, got the mud but none of the excitement

I went to the spot marked on the OS One-Inch Series 1963-64. Marked at 1004ft. The landscape has changed considerably. Opencast has come and gone. The block of forestry and track (now a wide opencast road)have changed. A small quarry (hole in ground) cuts into the wood. I took some photos of the landscape and hunted for the trigpoint or remains. No sign. Also spoke to a farmer who farms the fields reinstated after opencast and he has never seen the trigpoint and he has been there since the early sixties. OS states that the pillar was destroyed Oct 1956 and height was 306.202m.
