Leading a walk that passed by this pillar so the opportunity for Gemini Man and myself to go through the wall to visit was just too good not to miss. We had come up from Bowes using the footpath over High Green Fell to north. Then west along the good track to this location. The pillar itself is in good condition although the original metal plug has gone being replaced by a cemented version. Memorial plaque on north face. Grand view point on such a lovely morning.
