Staying at Cove on west of Peninsula with awful forecast, hence a very early start to catch the dry weather and some views. Not disappointed. Parked up in Rosneath and took easy track and route to mast and onto TP. My first TP bagged north of the border - and hoping it's not my last! 48 hours later covered in ticks and bites - all removed with care.

Great gravel walk to it from Peaton Hill car park - takes about 1 hr to get there.

Nice walk in from Clachan Farm where I parked Good viewpoint but didnt hang about as there was a snow squall on its way, pillar in good condition

From NS 2255 8675, Airlig first. Pillar has an asphalt plug sealing centre tube; front sight hole plug degrading, other 3 open. Good views.

Nice top but tough going cross country to reach it. Half an hour later I camped down beside the track on the way to Airlig.

Set off on a walk for this one convinced that i had already visited the Trig at Airlig Hill (P30 Tump NS228853) ...wrong ..so it was a much longer walk. Great views including Faslane.

Vgc pillar on a prominent ridge of the Rosneath peninsula. FB faces SE-ish with all sightholes open and clean through. Bolt covered in debris, unfortunately. Cap missing with asphalt plug. Superb 360 degree views now that the surrounding forest has been logged! Views to Arran, Rothesay, Achafour, Kilmun, Arrochar Alps, Strone and Beinn Chaorach plus back to Glasgow and the Gare Loch. Unfortunately, the blight that is Faslane is also visible. Follow the mapped track from Clachan Farm. Superb!

Parked in layby on east side of B833 at NS259824 followed mapped track to comms mast via farm. The pillar is still in good condition. Bitumous plug in spider. Front sight hole plugged, others open. Flush bracket faces 135°, SE. Pillar completed 28th May 1949 costing £39.8s.6d. In 1952 this marker was computed for triangulation as secondary station NS29/15 in the Greenock block. The flush bracket was levelled for height also in 1952. This trig point was last maintained by the OS in June 1980. Open westerly outlook, most other views obscured by conifers.
