But they all moved away without any fuss. Nice condition pillar in a nice setting. Still retains its original centre cap - with lightly indented lettering. Pillar history: Built on the 6th of December 1948, at a cost of £9 11s 7d. Last maintained by the OS in January of 2000.

Trig is sat atop a small concrete mound. Views are across the rooftops of Market Harborough but a better aspect of the same view can be had by walking about 50 yards south. Trig is seen from the nearby public footpath (if grasses and hedgerow are not in bloom). Easiest access is over a gate just by the footpath/Kettering Road junction then across the field of sheep.

Then over a collapsed fence and under a barbed wire one, to be greated by the herd of cows, who were easily shooed off and the trig was bagged. Chucking it down by now and the collapsed fence attacked me on the way back and I ended up with a nice gash on my leg!

Quite surprised to see that this pillar hasn't been visited often. Access is easy, just off a public footpath.I parked at the start of the path. Cows in the field, including one big man-cow, but all ignored me. Good view back over the town, but breezy enough up here today to make it difficult to stand near the trig. Watched a heron take off from the pond below and try to make headway into the wind, only to see it forced to turn and fly off in the opposite direction.
