It looks as though the verge has been built up to a solid plateau a couple of feet higher than originally. Despite getting all our tape measures out and measuring off all intersection points we couldn’t find this within a screwdriver’s depth of the surface. not totally convinced it has gone but gave up after 40 mins

Relatively easy find although needed digging out again. Seems the OS measurement from the BT inspection cover is a little out but other measurements ok. Re-covered with loose soil and turf.

22/12/2007 After half an hour prodding the ground and only finding the odd large stone I gave up. I even had a copy of the photo by Iainmac but I just could not find it. I was approached by a Postman on behalf of the Town Clerk of Llandovery who had watched my antics! Since this visit I have returned twice and have been unable to find the little devil! Visited with PKBathrooms Team today as we new Perigrinus had recently found the surface block.

Dusty wanted to come back to this with much determination and he found it very quickly this time. Glad to be a sidekick with him :-)

No sketch, but found a Block with a small brass rod marker seeming to match Iain's pics. 4m E of centre of manhole cover, 2m S of road edge, 4"down. 16/6 update - having now managed to open the OS sketch the relevant dimensions are 2.3 and 4.54 metres so it's clearly the same thing - although clearly not a Rivet but a Block.

This is a bit of a problem one, judging by diagram looks like it is buried under road salt, will need Metal detector to find i think.

Even with the help of the sketch I drew a blank very long grass didn't help but the site was fairly well churned so a metal detector may be the only solution.
