Parked in the nearest carpark and followed the path along the top of the embankment for a mile along to the trig. Just beyond the trig was a bird hide with great views out across the wash.

A bit out of the way and oddly placed in a hollow, though the views here are great across the river mouthes. This is our starting point for a Coast to Coast cycle across to Crosby, Merseyside - it is gloriously sunny and we are enjoying watching the boats heading out to sea on the high tide.

Very bleak in November. Parked in Cut Lane car park. 0.9 mile walk to trig. You only see it at the last minute just hidden down the bank slightly. Just got to it and the heavens opened.

Plastic cap cap. Embankment built up around pillar. Quite windy, cold and battered by passing squall to blow the early morning cobwebs away. A favourite spot for bird watchers and several seals watched us walk along the embankment.

Left bike at end of road to West and walked the 1.5km along the flood bank of the Haven. Could have lifted the bike over two styles (gates locked) near the start and cycled the short grassy surface. Pillar is not readily visible on approach as it sits on a lower bank. No boats passing.

Hi, I'm Big Fish and I am the main Trigpointer and Geocacher from the Fishteers. I now have my own name and so I am back logging all the Trigs that I found with the Fishteers, I am logging the find on the same day that I found it with the Fishteers.

Walked up to this one from Cut End and also had a spot of caching, this is the nearest Trig to our house and it's taken us this long to log it, how lazy! Whilst we were here the Boston Pilot Boat escorted a ship out of the Haven and then another one back in. Also logged as YSM200

Its there, just.

Had I read the last visitor's comments I would not have had the same experience of wondering where it had gone! As I got there the incoming tide had reached the point where a flotilla of 14 working boats started up the river to Boston. I am puzzled at what they were up to - 12 registered in Boston, two in Hull and all had huge open bags of what looked like gravel or similar. Why? At 6m above sea level it was the average of the three visited today.

The nearest parking for this one is a small carpark right at the end of Cut End Road [N5255.910 E00003.169]. From there, its an easy one mile walk along the dyke to the trigpoint. I was harried for a lot of the way by a very noisy and somewhat agitated oystercatcher. It was probably nesting somewhere on the flats below the dyke. I didnt realise until I got there, the significance of the name for this T/P. Id expected to see it from some distance away as the map shows it on top of the dyke but an indicated 100ft away and it was nowhere to be seen. 50ft and there was still no sign of it. I was starting to think that it had been removed or toppled. A few feet further and I spotted the top of it. It really is built in a hole. or at least, the dyke has been built up around it. Its in good condition with a plastic replacement plug. The views are what you would expect, given the location; flat salt marsh, tidal river and sea.
