Squeezed the car into TV 5374 9861 without managing to block the gate. A mile walk each way on tracks, across sheep pastures and following field boundaries. Pillar isn't quite at Cliff End (yet, but give it time), OS could perhaps have better named it given some choice from the 1:25k map. An original top cap is retained, raised lettering; LHS sight hole open. Extensive sea and landscape panorama.

Came from Wilmington Hill to the North by footpaths and bridle ways. The earlier low cloud has returned and without the adjacent fence to follow it could have been hard to find! Walked the first few of the Seven Sisters before cutting inland back to Eastbourne YHA via East Dean.Covered about 15 miles. Last of a trip of 22 pillars and an FBM.

In order to avoid parking charges, I parked in gateway @ TV 537 986 taking care not to block access. This is off a VERY busy A-road and its very difficult to find and stop at a parking place when the locals drive right up your ars.... Having been in the area for over a week, i knew what to expect so made sure I arrived here at dawn - 6am - when traffic was light

Hard frost, rock solid ground, remnants of snow, lots of bird life - Kestrel, Green Woodpecker, Pochard and other water birds on the Cuckmere. Climbed up to brow of hill from S Downs Way and TP in good condition on concrete base in sheep pasture. Wintery sea views along coast to Belle Tout lighthouse and Seaford.

Carried on and walked the Seven Sisters and then back around the woods to the car park. Would you believe it the tea shop was closed by the time we got back.
