Walked from the town along footpath across golf course. Early morning before work and no golfers about although best time of day at this time of the year. Where the footpath continues east below the summit of the hill, bear left and climb up past a couple of the greens. Tremendous views all round, across to Eastbourne, back towards the town and north across the county. On the way back down stopped to look at the monument to the Protestant Martyrs.

From nature reserve car park to the north. Couple of hop-over gates to access the fairway. No golfers today probably due to arctic weather.

5.3 mile circular from Glynde taking in Mount Caburn and Cliffe Hill trig, entered the golf course from footpath south, ignored the sign to keep to the path, as soon as we stepped off the path we bumped into a golfer, he seemed friendly enough; we asked if he had seen a trig pillar explaining what one was, he didn't know of one but was quite intrigued by the idea, we waited for another group of golfers to play their game and went across the final green to trig, headed easily back to the footpath. Third trig of the day; earlier bagged Wilmington Hill and Alfriston FBM. Later bagged Wolstonbury Hill and Chanctonbury Ring, Sunny with strong winds.

Parked in Rushy Green Ringmer village, nice easy walk up Week Lane past Saxon Cross. Trig is middle of Golf Course. Did get asked by a golfer if I was ok. Went early morning to avoid crowds .

Mistakenly followed road up to golf club HQ - the first footpath to the left is not signed or obvious. With respect to the players there wasn't a problem veering of the footpath to the pillar. well worth the climb from Lewes.

The plan was to access from the Golf Club club house but access to golf club difficult to find and not marked. A friendly dog walker helped out - its up Chapel Street, off South Street, Lewes, which is a VERY narrow steep road adjacent "Baggelpuss Books" @ TQ 4216 1035. Parking not encouraged but there is plenty of room and at the time of my visit, teaming with golfers cars but everyone very friendly. Also a Marilyn

Trig in very good condition including plug- located near to the eighth green of golf course. Approach was via stile which gives access to course over the ninth fairway.

Came up to the trig from a laybye on the main road. Very steep climb and had to negotiate a barbed wire fence or two. Not really the recommended route but got there ok. A few golfers around which I chatted to on this very hot April day. Activated trig on Worked All Britain amateur radio net and made a slightly easier return journey to the car.

superb viewpoint, lovely late summers day - golfers happy to chat and had no issue. approached from nr Glyndebourne up gravelly bridleway lane- moocows not bothered by my prescence.

Caught train from Lewes to Seaford and walked back. Third trig point of the day and approached from Mount Caburn. Despite being on a golf course, no golfers today so a easy bag.

Parked in Lewes and walked up the hill along the access road to the golf club. Veered off north before reaching the club house, then headed eats to the trig. Never sure what reception will be had from the grounds keepers when trespassing over their well manicured greens so stayed under the radar rather than being ordered off the course! Not a single golfer on the fairways today, not sure why as weather was very bright. Pillar located at top of the hill in a lovely setting with very extensive 360 views.

Parked at golf club which in itself took some finding,no problems walking upto the trig point,plenty golfers about on a lovely afternoon but all seemed happy to say hello, good views.

Beautiful May Day morning on the S Downs. Parked above Glyndebourne to E and followed track up onto open downland; herd of bullocks and 3 buzzards overhead. Stile gave access to golf course. No golfers given early hour, and groundsman/greenkeeper in golf buggy didn't seem bothered by my presence. TP at high point of course, in vgc, original plug, with lovely views to S and N. Sun in the sky, larks singing.

Fourth of 6 marilyns on my rest day from FMD duties at Guildford LDCC, sunny and clear. Parked up from Glynbourne Farm just passed double gates of permissive path. Follow this uphill, detour over damaged metal gate to arrive at golf course + first stile

Parked on road to Ringmer just up from Earwig Corner (great name!) bit of a puffer up to the golf course at the top - well worth it as great views all around. Pillar is in good condition

Excellent Views all round, no golfing going on avoided being hit. In good condition still with the plug in place. Dog was going crazy with all the rabbits running around on the walk up!
