Followed the forestry track from NT05236 18643 then through a felled section to the pillar. Just on the Borders side of the fence. Great views as long as you don't look south, west and north.

Unfortunately the presence of a large (largest in Europe) industrialised the view from this hill and Trig Point with huge roads driven through connecting all the turbines. More construction going on. Today I was continuing on my Watershed walk in stunning conditions and this was the first Trig of 3 today.

Slight damage to top surface. Spider centre has asphalt plug. GPS plaque. Sadly now part of the monstrous Clyde Wind Farm , near-by Harleburn Head has been be-headed to allow a turbine a seat on it's summit, what vandalism SSE !

The top of the pillar is crumbling away, otherwise OK. Good views from Skiddaw to the Highlands, but not for much longer, the wind farmers have already erected a monsterous road up nearby Harleburn Head - a turbine is due for the summit of Clyde Law.

On Peeblesshire (E) side of fence. Pillar good but top surface eaten away by weather. Spider plugged with usual tar compound. Vented through LHS sighting hole, back hole also starting to open. FB faces ENE ~61, away from fence. Built as Secondary station NS83/8 in Lanark Block NS83. Now GPS passive station T1NT0217. Parking in forest entrance at NT052186. Did a clockwise circuit of the mapped track. Tree ranks not too dense once inside, choice of many steep parallel lines to follow from track to top. Photographed in miserable weather 17/05/2007, GRP.
