Parked in the space at the start of the forestry track. It's then a very circuitous walk along the track to the open moor. Bit of a boggy hack to get to the pillar from the track. Right on cue the heavens opened as I arrived at the trig, severely limiting the views. Original cap still fitted.

Came to this one the long way round via the pillar at Cwm Irfon then west to Mynydd Trawsnant then battled through some forestry before picking up the forest tracks than in a round about way brought us south to this trig. The final 300 meters or so was the same route as others i.e. NE over some very difficult soft tussocky land. Had lunch in the shelter before going NE again and ending up in Llanwrtyd by the church. Two hard earned ticks.

Very mossy local stone pillar in good condition with metal plug. In it own shelter. Walked up from south along forest road, plenty of logger lorries today. Last part after road across tufty boggy land.

Fine summit with stone cairn sheltering stone built pillar. In good condition. Expansive views over to Eppynt ranges. Access from S park where forestry meets A483.the summit area is now clear felled so the access off the track is open and easy. Follow fenceline then cross near pillar. This is a wonderful area that deserves much more time spent on it than the fleeting visits I seem to make.

vgc, metal cap, small raised letters. On fine ancient cairn within shelter cairn. Tussocky summit with fine display of Cotton-grass. Straightforward access from S; final 300m from forest road to SW quite hard work.
