re-visit. white painted in field of long grass and weeds. Able to fit between bent bars of metal fence rather than climb inward curving top with barbed wire! last here in 2008.

I wasn't quite sure whether the barbed wire on most of the gates and fences in the area were to keep people out or cattle in. As it happens the field was empty at the time of my visit.

Climbed over a gate to access this one. The top rhs of the gate on entry, does not have any barbed wire. Still quite a lot of white paint on the grass around the base of this immaculate pillar.

This one is just on the edge of a quiet road. Its nearest boundary is a metal railed fence with barbed wire at the top and a rather thick hedge. I accessed it from an oped gate round the corner. Top in tact and good views.

Pillar has been painted white so it stands out, good views to the South West, metal fence has barbed wire on top to deter people from entering the field and the water pump is still lying forlornly on the ground gathering rust.

Parked in junction triangle. Must be the busiest junction in the country. Hopped over fence to field. The windpump still lies forlorn and rusting. Good views west to Malverns and Abberley Hills.

Grabbed this on the way to a walk round the Hob Hill trigpoint. Quick jump over the fence and there! Bitterly cold today and Mum passed up the opportunity to stand in the photo and elected to sit in the car! The water pump marked on the map is sadly lying on its side in a most forlorn manner. The windpump looks as though it was deliberately taken down rather than fallen, but comparison with earlier pictures leads me to doubt it disappeared then reappeared!

The fallen wind pump has been put back exactly as Fasgadh shows it in his photo. The wind pump fairies must have been in action or it was very foggy when Lathama visited. Plug replaced with plastic/metal insert.

I suppose that if all pillars were as easy as this, it would take the fun out of things...... Anyway, the fallen windpump has gone and the central plug has been replaced with a plastic insert. Pillar in good condition. Very good views westwards to Malvern and Abberley Hills and eastwards towards south Birmingham and Warwickshire.

A roadsider, easily visible from the road. This was useful in my last visit, which was during the foot and mouth, and I was able to get a good view from the tarmac. Pillar is in good shape, other than a missing plug and rusting tube. Next to a felled wind pump, the sort that you associate with Kansas.
