The last of three Trigs found on a circular moorland run from Glossop - with the snow progressively worsening. My fingers could barely function to photograph the Trig Point. The Trig looks in great condition and, on a clearer day, I'd imagine it's a great viewpoint.

Parked on a road called 'Well Gate'. Took the path that runs from Hope Street up to the summit of Cock Hill and the pillar, which involve a 225 metre ascent. Beautiful setting and spectacular views all round.

Great day walking round Bleaklow with my mate Steve. Included the Superfortress wreck (low cloud and rain nearly scuppered the walk here) and Doctor's Gate track to get to this trig. Met Melissa enthusiastically enjoying the discovery of walking because of the Covid-19 restrictions, we had a lively chat with her. Great views W, steady walk N to catch the Pennine Way E and S back to the A57.

So the grey deluges pass south and one of the loveliest days for ages, fresh, gleaming skies have an almost winter clarity before beautiful necklaces of fine cloud more in from west and north. Managed to miss the trig on the way out (parked near Devils Elbow in Longendale) - no idea how, so a trek back after the yomp to Bleaklow Head.

Parked in Old Glossop. A short walk uphill passed numerous old quarry workings. Weather was grim. Somebody is looking after this trig point. It is pristine. Some ground erosion around the base. On return met some locals who were picking up litter and used fireworks in one of the smaller quarries.

From Higher Shelf Stones. Followed Pennine Way via Bleaklow Head turning off after crossing Wildboar Grain. A series of boardwalks cross watercourses but ground in between very wet and muddy, a drunken zig-zag to avoid the worst. At the next summit there was a ruined building and a Landrover at the end of the vehicle track. Turned left along well trodden path past shooting butts to pillar. Hidden from this direction almost to you've reached it. Saw white hare. Earlier blue sky now lightly clouded over. Descent SW to Glossop and 17.25 bus and train home. About 11 miles walked.

Another great circular in the Peak District, parking in Old Glossop near the church, from there over to Cock Hill, over to the Pennie Way over to Bleaklow Head, then Higher Shelf Stones, via crash site of B29, 66 years to day, sad and thought provoking place, back down via Doctors Gate, 17.5k in total.

Parked at terminus car park at end of mills last of day proper walk this of around four miles walked out on valley bottom then left at the stile cut up fellside through woods came back on the top track lots to see. trig looks tired in fair condition raining now looked bleak now the weather had broken.

Parked alongside the metalworks on Shepley Street in Old Glossop. Followed the road E before turning N up the hill and then W along Hope Street to Charles Lane. From there it was a gentle climb along a walled track onto the open hillside where an obvious path makes its way up to the trig. The trig is hidden from view behind spoil heaps but you can just catch a glimpse of it if you stand on top of them. Trig is in good condition although only the one sight-hole is open and the cap has been replaced with a plastic disc. Its white coat and the underlying red paint are both looking rather weathered though.

Approached from Pennine way at Torside Clough, along fenceline then over rough moorland. But theres a decent path running alongside the grouse butts and past the 481m spotheight. Good views over glossop area

Parked near the bottom of Charles Lane opposite a factory.Take a footpath on left a short way up Charles Lane and follow a defined path until it meets a walled straight path and follow this to the pillar.Excellent all round views again.

Plastic plug. Public. Access Land. Peak District National Park. It is a fair trek across the lonely peat & heather moor from the south east, but the terrain is not really difficult. The line of prominent grouse shooting butts above Small Clough provide a reliable pointer to the trig. Straightforward descent into Glossop.

Out with my walking group - The Irregulars, LDWA - doing a walk that our leader had entitled A Tig Point Trilogy. We would visit Hey Edge, Holme Moss and this location on our journey. I had not been here before so it was an ideal opportunity to log my visit. Lovely vantage point but not the highest point arround. Everything in good order and pillar seems to be well maintained.

Pristine white - that's her AND the pillar - although the hares were losing their winter coats. Pleasant jaunt up from Old Glossop even if the local pubs were either closed or fire damaged which meant we had to prepare amidst the vehicle shennanigans outside the Royal Oak.

It is easy to miss this one in the morning mist as it is off the main path. Fortunately I turned my GPS on just at the right time and discovered it to be only 150 meters to my left so avoided overshooting too much. Painted white but with the red paint referred to by mickandshane visible underneath. Now with a plastic plug.

Although called Cock Hill, the trig point is not at the top of it, but is 55 metes below the highest point and about half a mile away.

One of my regulars, alongside Higher Shelf Stones, they make a nice circuit across Bleaklow and Doctor's gate. Looks like it was positionsed to oversse Glossop, not on top of Glossop Low where it would have been higher
