Managed to miss the trig on the way out (parked near Devils Elbow in Longendale) - no idea how, so a trek back after the yomp to Bleaklow Head.

From Higher Shelf Stones. Followed Pennine Way via Bleaklow Head turning off after crossing Wildboar Grain. A series of boardwalks cross watercourses but ground in between very wet and muddy, a drunken zig-zag to avoid the worst. At the next summit there was a ruined building and a Landrover at the end of the vehicle track. Turned left along well trodden path past shooting butts to pillar. Hidden from this direction almost to you've reached it. Saw white hare. Earlier blue sky now lightly clouded over. Descent SW to Glossop and 17.25 bus and train home. About 11 miles walked.

Parked alongside the metalworks on Shepley Street in Old Glossop. Followed the road E before turning N up the hill and then W along Hope Street to Charles Lane. From there it was a gentle climb along a walled track onto the open hillside where an obvious path makes its way up to the trig. The trig is hidden from view behind spoil heaps but you can just catch a glimpse of it if you stand on top of them. Trig is in good condition although only the one sight-hole is open and the cap has been replaced with a plastic disc. Its white coat and the underlying red paint are both looking rather weathered though.
