Parked at north end of Cockshutt village walked lane out to main road and then across field on footpath to Crosemere Farm passing between building to bridleway. Trig point has been moved from the adjacent field to beside the bridle path. The footpaths are well signposted from the road.

The footpath from the road junction to the east isnt marked, but it goes between the farm outbuildings. Easy access for short walk up a footpath that doesnt actually go anywhere! Trig has been carefully moved into the hedgeline. Reasonable views.

Cockshutt Less than half a metre away according to this 'geographical point' stored in GPS device. It's only 4m away from the official T.UK figure and only 2-4m from figures given by other users. Looking around at ground level between the stalks I could see 3-4m, but no trigs or plinths were seen...

Parked on minor road E of the path to the pillar. Followed path to farmyard and met a very frosty reception. Woman in farmyard told me that most people respected their privacy and used the right-of-way which leads SW away from the farm. I insisted that I wanted to follow the ROW past the trig. Was the told that the pillar was inaccessible as it was in a field of crops and anyhow, the right of way was a dead-end and went nowhere. I again insisted that I wanted to follow the path and was reluctantly let through the gate to the farmyard. Once I got to the vicinity of the pillar I couldn't see any crops so went straight to it.

There is now a bench positioned next to the trig. A faint path leads from the right of way through the winter crop to the pillar. Borderline slightly damaged condition, with several hairline cracks on the FB face side as well as a knock having been taken to the edge too. Very good all round views for such a modest elevation.

Still pelting down so this was a wet and muddy log! Another of those pillars with the 'raised S'. Original plug with slightly-indented letters. On a 'tump'in a grassy field with no animals but bridleway access extremely muddy. Also, awkward to park the car by the main road. Concrete base visible all round. Moderate agricultural views but murky today. Time for a pint in the 'Leaking Tap' I think!!
