tried to work out the best way up earlier when we were doing the last pillar, looked hard work and it certainly was, couldn't find any footpaths at all from the west end of the village so we just headed up for half hour of hell, last half of the climb very nice, good views.

From W end of Abergwynfi, as others. RoW initially then over rough ground to top. Pillar has lost its top cap and has either an asphalt or mortar plug replacement (tend to think the latter); all sight holes open. Small plaque low down on LHS; doesn't appear to be a memorial, unless CS Woods returned from the dead, as it states he placed it on the pillar himself! Top of the hill approx 25m due E where there are the remains of a lookout tower. Nice 360deg panoramic views.

We'd skirted round this 'mountain' to find the parking, we were very quiet, I suspect we were both thinking, 'that looks very steep'...... Once at the parking (Gelli Farm) Mr U2 gave me the blue pill, red pill option, sadly for him I choose the red pill which meant we were going up the hill. There are no words to describe it but we took a direct route and eventually arrived at the trigpoint, definitely the hardest of the trip so far and nearing the top of the list of all the trigs I've done so far!

#317 P#231 P2016#31. Parked closectobtgecgsrmvand tried to talk MRS TJR out of this but she wasn't having any of it. Spoke to farmer who advised us of best route. We kind of ignored that and hoofed it steeply uphill. Great views from the trig and base of some ww2 structure close by. Also an interesting wee memorial plate.
