Followed the line of the fence by the railway until past the stables and then up the steep hill to do battle with the brambles defending the trig.

Parked along golf club access road. Walked NE along a metalled track, past stables. Then across a paddock and steeply up through pine woodland to hill top, a bramble/bracken scrubby clearing. Pillar has an asphalt top cap relacement; rear sight hole open. Extensive views NE, all other directions obscured by woodland.

From B4290, thru gate with horses heads (Earlswood Golf Course) and up drive to car park at SS720938. Do not approach direct from wood to south - thick brambles at top. Instead, walk around wood and approach from east

We parked to the west of the entrance to the clubhouse, and took a metalled track with a large metal gate at the front of it which presumably leads to the disused quarry. It's easy to nip over the earth bank. Just past Pent-y-sais, a riding stables, I hopped the fence and headed for he trig. It's at the top of the pinewood in a heather clearing - skirt the wood and head up from the north side. Tarmac/concrete plug.
