Took a little while to locate this SB as nature has reclainmed it since previous visit 20 mths ago. Also, lining up gate post with house on opposite side of Severn (as per OS sketch) doesn't quite work with the new post - doh! Anyway, it's still there, 1.7m from edge of road (or 67" as some of us fondly remember it), as can be seen in my second photo.

Had become recovered so used the transits from a previous photo to locate. Excavated and new transit photo as the gateposts from the OS sketcvh have been replaced and resited. Line the edge of hedge with the left side of the distant woods as per photo.

Initially not visible on the surface but I did not want to log consecutive “could not find’s" or to be outwitted by a lump of concrete so I attacked the verge with a screwdriver like a madman until I found the damn thing. OS sketch very helpful. The bolt was several inches below the surface and is now uncovered. From the site there is a reasonable view through the gateways opposite to the river with a small cliff on the far bank and a wooded hill beyond.

I visited the point referenced by the OS diagram but didn't find the rivet in the grass.

TP0233 The left-hand gate-post is lined up with buildings on the opposite bank of the Severn, as directed by the OS diagram. The rivet is somewhere in the grass.
