When you can see the Cheviot it's a sign of bad weather, as it is when you can't see it. From a black rumble to grey cloud licked. Thankfully when the deluge really kicks in we're giggling in the car at Wooler Common, car slightly rocking in the wind. Last one alas before we decamp southwards.

First Visit 04/01/13 Not Nick & Rosie, but Nick & Bobby. For a very old girl, the dog did well to get to the top of this. Walked from the Hawsen Burn to the top of Broadhope Hill then east to Cold Law. Second Visit 29/12/13 Glorious clear day, fabulous views, Rosie's 2nd TP. Walked from the Carey Burn to Broadstruther then south to the col between Broadhope Hill and Cold Law. Third Visit 12/08/17 with Rosie and Blue, that's 3 dogs now I've taken up this hill. Parked by the Carey Burn and walked up via Steely Crags. Not shown on any map yet is the extension of the bulldozed track that now leads to just below the summit, an obtrusive scar on the landscape, inflicted on the landscape to aid rich knobs in the pursuit of slaughtering wildlife...Arriving at the summit late in the evening surprised to find a photographer camped out by the TP, hoping to film the Perseid Meteor shower. Thoroughly nice chap called Andy. Hope this site inspires him to take up Trig Pointing and to log his visits...

Wet underfoot from Cheviot but bearable especially with the thought of dry socks and shoes waiting in the car.
