Drove up yellow road to the North until a locked barrier was reached. Then up the hill following ATV tracks.

From due north, parking bike at junc wall/new fence (NS 6706 1530) after returning from some hills to the NE. Pillar sits probably at the hill summit, but there are a number of bumps up there. Centre cap gone, asphalt plug largely gone also, residue left around rim of central tube; all sight holes open - plugs at front, rear and RHD side mostly degraded. Extensive views.

Red hot day, Walked from the former New Cumnock FBM, easy going due to the dry conditions. Good all-round views including the last active coal site in Scotland.

Parked at a convenient spot about 1 mile or so past Glen farm (road gets pretty poor after farm) and headed thru the fire break down and up the pretty steep banking over the burn then a nice easy climb to the trig. Too foggy to see much but would be cracking on a clear winters morning :-)

Good condition pillar on top of the rather splendid Corsencon Hill. FB faces south-ish with all sightholes open, although blocked. The cap is missing and not plugged. The pillar has been recently vandalised sporting "Fudge 2010" (or "Gudge")? The hill looks quite considerable from New Cumnock FBM, but is actually quite a quick rip from there. Followed the wood line south-east-ish up to the shoulder, then just ploughed straight towards the pillar. It being -11C made the frozen ground easy going underfoot although the snow was deep in places. Splendid views from the top in all directions.

Corsencon Hill pillar immediately prior to sunset Bit of eye-candy for once! Tiny speck of sun left just as the sun set (and the temperature of -11C became very very apparent!).©descarte1
