Stone building near Morton reservoir, hop over gate, ran to Corston cairn and then onto the trig point. Great views of the pentlands hills and also able to see the Firth of Forth and Arthurís seat.

Parked opposite in the car park. Followed the way markers until i got under the pylon then made a gentle ascent from here following the sheep trails upwards. The sheep and cattle have made quite a mess around some of the bridges so just hoped over the wee burns.

Used the dodgy A70 carpark and crossed road, over stile, followed yellow markers and gentle ascent. Great to be in grass tussocks, rushes and heather. High mark given for extensive all round views. Easy 1/2 hour round stroll.

Parked at the Drovers Road car park on the A70 crossed the road and followed the yellow-topped marker poles indicating bridges over the swamp areas until I saw a clear path to the summit. Bit of a dodgy car park (not signposted) and shided from the road with obligatory fly-tipping. Wouldn't want to leave my car here for too long.

Fed up of working so popped out for the last hour of daylight. Very pleasant wander up from the Cauldstane Slap carpark, fence not a problem. Easy terrain. Continued over to Auchinoon Hill with its standing stone summit. Strange hills, outliers "the wrong side" of the Lang Wang. Still have a Pentland feel to it. Trig in good condition, a bit of flaking but nothing serious. Unfortunate view to the north, but another trig fro viewing football grounds, this time Ferranti Thistle. There is a seismological survey station around here somewhere - possibly on the south slopes of Auchinoon

There is a handy little carpark at NT 1018 6283 where the Pentlands path to Cauldstane Slap starts. Corston Hill is on the opposite side of the road. Straightforward walk up the hill once you find your way past the barbed wire fences at the bottom. While looking for a way through, I discovered a family of foxes all snoozing in the midday sun. The pillar is in good condition, and retains the original spider cap. Great views from the top of the hill to the Pentlands, and over to Fife.
