The lady owner of Lilac Cottage Kennels and Cattery was just pulling in as I was passing. Permission and directions readily given by her other half who was very disparaging about GPS devices. Up along field boundary to end of trees and bear right. The flush bracket is visible from the other side of the wire fence. As noted previously, the pillar is not marked on my 1:50000 map card in my GPS either.

parked in front of lilac cottage cattery & kennels and got permission to leave the car for the time it took to go to trig - walked about 50m west along the road to an old half open gate and followed the hedgerow up the hill to the north boundary and the trig is about 50m along this to the right. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QksFailcjTY

I had missed this one previously as it is not shown on the OS 1:50,000.Left bike at gate to West of cottage and kennels and walked up by hedge and edge of barley. Clear conditions gave excellent all round views. There was a young buzzard, about the size of a pigeon, still a little fluffy and without full tail feathers, on the ground. No parents about.

Well - its on my 1:50000 sheet 126 which I must admit is very old [it doesn't have the M54 on it or the re-aligned A5]. Not too easy to access but it's in a hedgeline alongside an arable field. Original plug with slightly-indented letters. Some paint still remains. Sightholes below soil level. The rabbits are still there....

Hadn't expected to find this. It's not on the OS map, but there it was, dead on the right spot and in OK condition. Against a wire fence. I was challenged by a local native when I got back to the car, but he was friendly. The field to cross held rabbits and foxes by the score, many of which bolted from under my feet. Private

Almost an exact match on the GR. The satelites are good to me. This pillar is not shown on the 1:50000 maps and is bang on the join between 126 and 127. It is on the 1:25000 and exists in good condition. Amazed to get to it, but there was still an unploughed stubble field - good news for the birds including a singing skylark, first of the year. All metal work intact and a fine view of some old hangers used as warehouses.
