Logged whilst walking the Coldale Horseshoe with my son and his dog, Penny. A tough, ten mile hike with eight peaks, five being Wainwright's and two of them with trig points. Also a rewarding walk that included some ridge walking, scrambling and amazing views. That said, the cloud cover was reasonably low and so on the highest peaks, including this one, the views were restricted. No flush bracket and couldn't determine where it would have been fixed to the pillar. Some damage/erosion to the top and the centre for the spider is missing.

Another escape to the north... beautiful weather and perfect for a day on the fells. Take a glorious route from the dale to Outerside then on to Sail. End on the glorious wide grassy lands of Grasmoor. Stunning glacial valleys, peaks and a platinum sea as the Solway draws in evening cloud. One of the most stunning walks that the Lakes can offer. Highest trig of the year so far.

Walked an AC Coledale Horseshoe from Braithwaite. Conditions were challenging above 650 metres with clag, snow and a ferocious wind. I only met one other person on Grisedale Pike who was retreating down to Whinlatter. Didn't linger too long on Crag Hill since highest summit on the round and the worst spot for all elements mentioned. Tethered the dog down. I have to gift Il Crag, as its known, to the silver haired foxes who have come out of retirement and working the twilight shift at the supermarkets. Bless them.
