A strangely beautiful spot and llamas too.

Wondered if there was a trigpoint convention going on, given all the cars parked around and about as we approached. Then realised we were at the City Farm and it was a Sunday afternoon. So off we went up the hill and after a bit of searching found the right bit of hedge behind which the trigpoint was hiding. Not much of a view, but nice Llamas!

I initially drove down Barhill Road from the north, but turned round because access was only for buses and locals. So I had to detour round to the south end of Barhill Road by the city farm. I drove all the way up the reservoir access lane to the mast, passing a young chap on a bike on the way up. It was raining so obviously the yoofs who had been seen on previous occasions were busy inside playing on their XBoxes instead! A bit of an uninspiring location by a reservoir compound. I walked into the field to the south of the lane and west along the edge to find the pillar hiding beneath a hawthorn tree. Pillar in reasonable nick but there’s a chunk missing off the NW corner of the top; FB faces N; sightholes not observed. No real views to speak of from the pillar itself but there are views of Erskine Bridge from a mound about 50m to the east by the mast compound.

Slightly damaged pillar with corners chipped off standing to *south* side of reservoir fence about halfway along under a tree. FB faces north-ish with no open sights due to mud build-up round the base. Cap missing but asphalt plug in place. Views from the trig are a bit rubbish, but the vistas from the top of the hill are extremely fine with a particularly nice aspect to the Erskine Bridge. Of note at base of hill is Lamont City Farm which looks like fun!
