Took bus out from Aberdeen to Bridge of Potarch which stops right opposite a good track at NO608974, Followed this track for 1/2 mile in old money, 0.75k in new before branching off onto a muddier track that took me to the bottom of the last steep climb through some bouldery bits to Trig point. Plenty of feral bike tracks/paths to chose from for the last bit.Views limited due to trees.

Revisit. SITE VISIT: Overall approach from NNE. Parked in makeshift layby to north side of unclassified road, 100m west of track at NO617989. Up mapped track to highpont then via steep unmapped track and easy woodland grass to summit. Woodland setting with overhead tree coverage. Pillar in good condition with tree one foot in front of flush bracket. Spider retains OS centre cap with shallow engraved letters. Flush bracket faces SSW, compass measurement 193. Vented through right (SE) sight hole. The view was lost to the surrounding woods many years ago.

Lovely walk up to the trigpoint. Parked at N57 04.782' W2 37.805' at the start of the track next to the quarry. Followed the very slippy track up to a geocache at N 57 04.521' W 002 37.818' (Warlock Stone - well worth researching, although I don't think I actually saw it due to forestry operations!). Then took the forestry track towards the trig, climbed some snowy boulders to the trig itself and then headed what seemed like downhill to me to the waypoint for Ord More. Spider seems to have regained it's plug?

Same route as PHMB. Handy parking just at start of track. Trig is in a nice spot but can hear stone quarry works to disturb the peace.

This wooded hill is called Ord More. Trig pillar in good condition. Spider no longer has an OS plug. Flush bracket faces south. A tree is growing in front of the pillar. Will the pillar be uprooted by this tree one day? Visited and photographed 5/06/2001, GRP.
