And on its virtual trig flush bracket birthday, a virtual walk, as per Wayne Mac to the virtual pillar on the real TuMP summit. From the old mill at Longshoot, first visited The Halo then took the track along Top of Slate and Cribden Side and up to Brow Edge. Then followed wall to the path along the ridge. Followed that to the non existent trig pillar. Track straight off past Cribden Flats back to the car

Cycled past on a ride to the haslingdon halo, from burnley. Along manchester road to crawshaw booth, up and round the side of the hill to the halo. Back home via the kings highway and accrington road.

From free car park next to Haslingden Co-op. Followed brown signs to the Halo, then on to Cribden Hill summit. Solo.

Nice view point. But sadly no trig. Was told by a dog walker that i should not be here. After showing her the map that it was a public right of way she turned her nose up and walked on. Very funny i thought.

A modest hole in the ground, near the wall stile. I was walking with a stress fracture in my heel - it was killing me. Worth it for the views, though. There was a strange modern folly nearby (dish), and the remains of an old beacon - probably never to signal an invasion again!

Up here today to see Lincoln thrash Accrington 3-0, so a chance to do some local caches and trig points. Visited the local halo then a chance to check on the trig location, which, as we know, isn't there anymore but the views on a glorious day like today were well worth the effort!

Visited on a trip to see the Halo Panoptican. Beacon still lying on the hillside, south ridge wet from there to the site of the trig.

not found (albeit in poor light) - pleasant summit, Millenium beacon; 401m TP not found, understood to be gone. Revisited 15/12/12: still not there. Presumably it went north - slope too steep for it to have been removed south. Too cold and drizzly today for a proper search.
