About 100 metres west of turning to north for Mawsley village a footpath is signed on the north side of the road. Easy to miss from road as verges quite densely grown with bushes and trees. Over wooden footbridge to grassy field. Pillar easy to spot a few metres to west of bridge. View of field and houses to north and west. OS plaque and Spider and cap in place.

In good condition and still sporting original centre cap - lightly indented lettering. Scant details in the records, as per usual for primaries, but last maintained by the OS in July of 1984

Needed a quick and easy dog walk post night shift and this fitted the bill. Parked up in the residential area and walked along FP back towards the road, bagged the trig then retraced our footsteps and continued on towards Cransley. Not the most interesting views but the pillar is easy to access and in good condition

Not feasible to park on the road, verges are also extremely soft... as I found out! Small layby on newish residential estate worked (SP 8078 7546). Walked back to main road and NW along it for ~150m, into an arable field and there it was. Pillar retains original centre cap, lightly indented lettering; all sight holes open. Views across the field is about the extent of it.
