Parked in car park at top of road, walked back down and up track towards the beacon. A cold, wet, windy day, very boggy off track but our only wet day in the week. Spoke to a farmer who had just retreated to the comfort of his van halfway up the track. Maybe he had been gathering the scallop shells that others spotted, I only saw one ! Pillar is just over other side of fence, in gorse bushes. I was surprised that my GPS readings were only 1 metre out on each co-ordinate considering they were taken from the other side of the fence from the actual pillar ! Ground was very muddy and well-trodden by cattle, I wasn't going to venture any further and weather was worsening, by the time I had returned to the car it was appalling !

In the gorse. Looks quite accessible in this picture.
This picture tells a truer tale. No way was I going to climb barb wire in a muddy field into gorse bushes on a day like this !

Drove up by the Black Houses and parked beside a gate and walked across field to spaceship. Had a look at that then got stuck by the crotch on barbed wire fence as I crossed to the trig. Luckily I had three woman to help unhook me. Got some photos of trig then walked around through open gate back to the girls. Interesting spot.
