Parked near the play area. Followed the ROW to the field and then around the field boundary. Found gaps in the crop to walk through to the tram tracks and then to the trig.

Parked up at The Stag Inn and walked back along the side streets past the play area to the footpath. Followed the FP round to the gate then veered off left and around the field edge to the point adjacent to the pillar. Carefully made my way through the plantings to tram lines then up to the pillar. Nice views of the Western Fells but no much in other directions. Field was quite wet in parts. Beer in The Stag Inn afterwards.

Parked in the village green. Surrounded by nettles in a once cropped muddy field, this trig appears sad and unvisited.

RoW through residential housing, then out into an arable field - a muddy stubble field today, with pillar sitting in a patch of dead nettles; there could be a worse time of the year to bag this one. Top cap missing, no plug; all sight holes open. Extensive views all directions except NW where the bungalows present a barrier.

Parked in village and walked footpath from the green around into the trig field. Still stubble which made for easy access to trig point.

Another of those strange low trigs of the Solway coastal areas, another one that likes nettles, though the boundary may just be faint now and the cows have gone it's good to see the nettle patch is growing. Field full of crunchy stalks.

HISTORY: Pillar built in November 1949 costing £10.15s.6d. Computed as tertiary triangulation station NY11/T12 in 1952. Levelled for height in 1971. Last maintained by the OS in April 2000. OS Archive has FB S5666 in error. SITE VISIT: Parked in village, followed westerly RoW out, returned via easterly RoW. Was amidst a jungle of very high corn crops at date of visit. Located using GPS being very careful not to damage any vegetation. Pillar in good condition. Spider retains OS centre cap with deep indented letters. Flush bracket faces southwest, ~235°. All sight holes open. Many mapped boundaries have been removed, including the line through the pillar symbol. New housing has appeared to the northwest.

We asked at the farm bungalow where a nice old lady gave us permission. Good view of the lakes and a small disused pit tip. Plug with heavily indented lettering.
