From there, took the PROW up to the summit of Crouch Hill and the pillar, which is within a small wood. The cap was missing, so I replaced it. Chunk missing down one edge of the column, and one of the top corners.

The graffiti artists are back.... The local estate has been described below as commuter belt housing. Well now we know what the youths get up to when their parents are busy commuting. The pillar has been sprayed yellow at some point in the past (it's fading a bit now) and a rather unglamorous phallus has been painted in black on the western face. Plenty of broken bottles again but on the bright side, the views are stunning. Notice also the ring of tree saplings in the field to the east. A sort of "woodhenge"... Its even on the satellite photos on Google.

This one is at the top of a wooded knoll in an area of open-access land on the edge of Banbury's suburban area. As a result, it's obviously a gathering ground for the local youth as it's covered in graffiti; there were a lot of broken bottles around it and a small fire had obviously been successfully started in the hole where the plug should have been. It has also been painted a vivid shade of yellow at some point and a lot of the yellow paint remains. There is a large chunk missing halfway down the edge between the NW/SE faces and some chips in the top. The base protrudes about 3" above grass level. There are good views N/NW but other directions are obscured by trees.
