I took the opportunity to revisit Crow Nest whilst in the Beeston area, knowing it was the Easter holidays; the school was closed and there was no sign of life anywhere so I made my way round the back on the very muddy track. Since I was here last, the school have put up dozens of warning signs on the fences - and in the wet and rain, the fence was actually a fairly dangerous obstacle, but its lack of height was its undoing. The handy foothold in the gate helps, and I finally got hands-on. The pillar is in weathered condition with a replacement cap, and some faded graffiti. Carefully returned the same way.

I finally got round to visiting Crow Nest - my final extant local pillar. After being jabbed at Elland Road, I nipped up Crow Nest Lane, passed the school and parked up on Town Street. The footpath that runs past the school meets a track running right round the back, and voila. Despite it being half term, there were still plenty of folk about in the school, so I decided not to jump the fence. If this hadn't been a school, however, I'd not have given it a second's thought - the fence is under 6ft and the gate has a very handy foothold. Pillar looks in fine nick, despite some weathered graffiti, and luckily the FB faces the fence. I will pop back with my little helper and book in with the school for a closer visit some day. ***Non-visit addendum - later revisit 11/04/23 managed to get access, so have amended Unreachable but Visible status to Good***

Hopefully the school will look after this one. Decent views over Leeds city skyline, Elland Rd stadium. Incredible level of security for a school. All the kids in class so risked a couple of pictures through the fence, which hasn't been electrified yet :) Zoom on camera good enough to pick out the FB number, so called this one bagged, especially as I was in my suit on the way to a meeting. No way I was risking family jewels and my new suit for it!

About 15 minutes walk from my house and it's taken me the best part of 12 months to tig it!! Good view of the footie stadium. First visited today at around 2.30 and logged the trig then from outside the fence - it's about 10ft inside the fence. Sat at home at 7pm and thought, well, being so close, not to attempt a real 'tig' would be a bit wimpish. Walked around the school perimiter twice and there is no alternative other than to climb the nearby gate but I have to say the fence top is VERY sharp and if you've got short legs (I'm 31 inside leg) I'd be very wary. Regardless of that, one slip over the fence and your sex life (or worse) could be gone - please be very careful. I personally would happily regard the trig being 'bagged' from outside the fence.
